Products

Below are some common questions about our products

Are QLVR made with sustainable materials?

Yes. You can see the full breakdown of the materials here.

Our goal at QLVR is to build the best performance products but use materials that do the least amount of harm to our environment. With this in mind we are working with innovative companies to utilise their Premium Sustainable Materials and Compounds within our products.

The QLVR Running Slipper is crafted with premium sustainable materials, ensuring a responsible choice. The foam compound is derived from dandelions, providing a lightweight and responsive feel. Our bio based premium rubber sole is made from corn cob waste offering durability and slip resistance. Additionally, we use Pebax® Rnew® bio based polymer made from castor beans to make our QLVR wing and our spring plate, adding a high-performance element to the trainers. QLVRs also feature Tencel yarn, woven from Lyocell fibers derived from sustainably grown eucalyptus wood. These materials not only make the Running Slipper sustainable, but also ensure they are durable, comfortable, and high-performing.

Are they vegan?

Yes we can confirm our shoes are 100% vegan. No animal based glues or animal based materials are used in the making of our footwear.

How do they work?

Our patented QLVR wing fit system is designed in a closed ‘laced up’ position, so that once it is on it will instantly give you a secure ‘locked in, laced up’ feeling. The 360 degree zig zag system provides a secure fit all around your foot and yet it can flex to mould to the shape of your foot. The narrower heel design ensures better heel hold to prevent heel slipping and stop your foot from moving back and forth inside the shoe.

So to put the shoe on, you place your foot on the rear of the wing (stepping on the back of your shoes like kids do!) and this opens the shoe for you to step in. Then to remove your foot you step the other foot on the rear kick step (see demo videos) which opens the shoe to remove your foot..

Why do you supply 2 extra insoles in the box?

We know that some athletes prefer a tighter fit for performance days and a more roomy fit for off duty or leisure wear. So we include 2 different thickness insole options in every box so you can select your ideal fit. Our built in insole also offers extra cushioning and the flexibility to wear personalised orthotics.

What sizes are they available in?

QLVR is currently available in sizes UK3.5 - UK9 including half sizes.

Do QLVRs come in half sizes?

Yes! Our size range includes half sizes.

Will you be offering bigger sizes in the future?

Absolutely! Yes we will expand our size range in future.

What is the fit like?

QLVR footwear runs ‘true to size’ and is based on a regular width fitting (not a wide fitting). .

How do I choose my size?

Go with your true size to get that snug locked-in feeling. If you prefer a more loose feeling, or if you like to wear thick socks, go up a size.

As footwear brands’ vary in sizing, we recommend that you measure your foot length following these instructions here.

Are they good for narrow feet?

We class our shape as a regular fit with a slightly wider toe box but narrower heel compared to standard running shoes. This is because our shoes are engineered around a true women’s specific fit. The good news is that our fit system holds your foot securely at the back which helps to prevent your foot from moving back and forth inside the shoe. Our insoles are removable so you will be able to swap them out if you have custom insoles.

How much do they weigh?

Based on a UK womens size 6 the shoe weighs 270g.

Are they good for runners who overpronate?

This is a 'neutral' shoe. However our sole does feature a built-up sidewall especially around the arch and heel area which helps with added stability and combined with our QLVR Wing fit system, you'll find that there is a lot more support in the back half of the shoe compared to regular running shoes. Our insoles are removable so you will be able to swap them out if you have custom insoles.

Would they be suitable to wear with orthotics?

The answer is yes. Due to the slip-in and out nature of our design, our earlier test samples had a fixed insole. However, based on our athlete testers feedback, we have re-engineered our shoes to offer a removable insole should you need to swap them out for custom orthotics.

How secure are these, being a slip on?

Our patented QLVR wing fit system is designed to give you that laced-up locked-in fit the second you step in. Our fit system and women's specific shape will hold your foot securely and comfortably, so you won't experience heel slipping while you run or train.

Despite being super easy to slip the shoe on, opening as you step on the back to slip in, the shoe automatically closes around your foot when you push your heel down and will remain securely locked in place until you step on the rear heel to open and remove your foot. QLVR and simple!

Do they suit wide feet?

As a start-up company, we are launching first with a regular Women's specific fit but we do have every intention of offering a wide fit in Womens at a later date.

What is the drop?

Our Running Slipper model is built with a 9mm drop. As this is our debut shoe, we have created a versatile multi training shoe. It is a neutral shoe with a regular fit and a removable insole for personalising your fit. The forefoot stack height is 26mm and the rear foot stack height is 35mm.

Are they ok if you need stability trainers?

So, to clarify, this is a 'neutral' shoe. However our sole does feature a built-up sidewall especially around the arch and heel area which helps with stability and combined with our QLVR Wing fit system, you'll find that there is a lot more support in the back half of the shoe compared to regular running shoes.

Are they washable?

Our Running Slippers can be machine washed on a gentle cold water setting with mild detergent. Please wash separately or not with any sharp items. (We wash them inside a mesh bag or pillowcase.) So you can keep them looking fabulous!

What makes our shoes so good for running?

Along with the 360 degree QLVR secure fit system, double layer of foam cushioning, full length rubber sole…. It’s the Pebax® Springboard that’s sandwiched between the twin layered ‘Dandelite’ foam midsoles. It’s designed to help boost natural propulsion and literally give you spring in every step.

How are they for slip resistance?

QLVRs have a full-cover rubber tread with no foam exposed to the ground to give a super secure leading edge, just like the tyre on a car, which adds durability and you won’t have any slip issues to contend with.

How are they for standing?

Although they’re designed for both running and light resistance training, the unique wavy midsole in the arch is designed to compress when stationary and allows the foot to be flat to the ground when standing still. Also, our twin layer bio midsole gives a double dose of cushioning for comfort all day long. The wider toe box design (compared to the majority of women’s running shoes), allows more space for toes to move and the zig zag fit system ensures good rear heel hold, which prevents the foot from slipping or moving back and forth in the shoe.  The upper material is breathable and the full length rubber sole delivers good grip for slippery surfaces. Lastly, at only 270g, they’re super lightweight too, with a bouncy spring underfoot for superior comfort. Great for people who work on their feet!

How are they for stationary stability in gym training?

Although they’re designed for both running and light resistance training, the unique wavy midsole in the arch is designed to compress when stationary and allows the foot to be flat to the ground when standing still during workouts such as balancing or light weights.

At only 270g, they’re super lightweight too, with a bouncy spring underfoot for superior comfort.

The Running Slipper’s full length rubber sole delivers good grip for slippery surfaces while the wider toe box design (compared to the majority of women’s running shoes), allows more space for toes to move, which aids stability. QLVRs unique patented zig zag fit system delivers 360 degree foot support and excellent rear heel hold, which prevents the foot from slipping or moving back and forth in the shoe.
